Team ’78 Chapel Hill High School,
We value you as part of our CHHS class and look forward to our mini-reunion, October 18, 2025, and our BIG 50th reunion in 2028. We are thankful for the dedicated class leaders working on the reunion planning, new “CHHS Class of 1978” website, Facebook page and scholarship teams for keeping us connected!
Remember, at the heart of all we’re doing is YOU!
Endowment 2025 Campaign: Our 1978 Memorial Scholarship
On August 1, 2025, we’re launching our 1978 Memorial Scholarship endowment campaign, and it will continue through November 2025 to give everyone sufficient time to be a part of our historical achievement. Remembering our classmates is primarily what our endowment scholarship is about, and it’s where we’ll be remembered together (please see our CHHS Class of 1978 Memorial page)
Likewise, we believe in supporting future CHHS graduates through higher education. The late Mr. R. D. Smith urged us to “Give Back” and through our partnership with the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Public School Foundation, we’re positioned to establish our endowment with a managing partner that ensures your donations are counted, tax-deductible and transparent. Please consider making annual ongoing donations or a one-time gift via our website. Any size donation is welcomed.
Currently, our scholarship awards $1,000 every four years to one student. Our goal is to raise at least $50,000 to fund two scholarships a year. To date, our balance is $14,653.
Thank you for your support! Your generosity helps young CHHS graduates achieve their dreams. Together, our philanthropic vision keeps Team ’78 a class to be remembered for years to come.
With Much Appreciation,
CHHS Class of 1978 Scholarship Marketing Team
